Hubiera sido necesario, por lo tanto, que Adán (de no estar inspirado) hubiese tenido experiencia del efecto, que se siguió del impulso de estas dos bolas. Tuvo que haber visto, en varias instancias, que cuando una de las bolas chocaba contra la otra, la segunda siempre adquiría movimiento. Si hubiera visto un número suficiente de instancias de este género, cuando quiera que viese una bola moviéndose hacia la otra, habría concluido siempre sin vacilación que la segunda adquiría movimiento. Su entendimiento se anticiparía a su visión, y formaría una conclusión adecuada con su pasada experiencia.

It would have been necessary, therefore, for Adam (if he was not inspired) to have had experience of the effect which followed upon the impulse of these two balls. He must have seen, in several instances, that when the one ball struck upon the other, the second always acquired motion. If he had seen a sufficient number of instances of this kind, whenever he saw the one ball moving towards the other, he would always conclude without hesitation that the second would acquire motion. His understanding would anticipate his sight and form a conclusion suitable to his past experience.

Adán tendría que haber sentido o experimentado anteriormente el choque de las bolas y el movimiento de la segunda para poder inferir en un futuro que la segunda bola se pondría en movimiento.
El que la segunda bola se ponga en movimiento está basado en experiencias pasadas.
